What Data Does Whispr Collect?

Whispr collects very little. Your voice is never stored or recorded — ever.

What we collect

  • Your email address, so you can sign in
  • Basic account info from Google, Apple, or Facebook if you choose to sign in that way
  • Short-lived session codes and connection history (kept for 30 days, then deleted)
  • The type of phone you use (iOS or Android, OS version) so we can keep the app compatible
  • Anonymous crash reports — only if something goes wrong, so we can fix it

What we never collect

  • Your voice — conversations travel directly between phones and never reach our servers
  • Your location — even if Android asks for the location permission, Whispr only uses it to find the other phone offline; we do not record where you are
  • Your contacts or call history
  • Anything used for advertising
